Frequently Asked Questions

How do I look after my tattoo?

After your tattoo appointment, remove the cling film after two/three hours. Wash the tattoo using warm water and unfragranced soap. Pat it dry with a clean, dry towel and apply a thin layer of the recommended balm to the tattoo. Apply enough balm to make the skin shiny. Re-wrap with cling film and repeat this whole process 3 - 4 times per day for 3 days. Stop using the cling film and apply balm for 4-5 times a day, or whenever the skin is dry, for the whole of the initial 2 week healing period. After a few days, the top layer of the tattoo may start to peel, similar to a sunburn. Do not peel this off as it can take the ink out of your tattoo. It’s perfectly normal to see small flakes of coloured skin at this stage of the healing.

or if you are using second skin

Leave the second skin on for 3 days, you may see ink and plasma gather under the second skin, this is totally normal. After the 3 days remove second in the shower if possible, peel gently. Apply recommended balm for 4-5 times a day, or whenever the skin is dry, for the whole of the initial 2 week healing period. After a few days, the top layer of the tattoo may start to peel, similar to a sunburn. Do not peel this off as it can take the ink out of your tattoo. It’s perfectly normal to see small flakes of coloured skin at this stage of the healing.

Is anything to avoid whilst my Tattoo is healing?

  • Avoid having long showers or baths while your tattoo is healing. Long durations of soaking will loosen scabs that have formed and will have a detrimental effect on the healing process. Quick showers are best.

  • No swimming in the ocean, swimming pools or hot tubs/saunas.

  • Try not to scratch, scrub or pick at your new tattoo as disrupting the healing process can lead to scars or needing touch ups. Applying the recommended aftercare balm will help with any itching.

  • Wait until your tattoo is fully healed (about 4 weeks) before going in the sun or using a tanning bed and always use a high-quality suncream. Do not apply sun cream to tattoo during the healing process.

Do we only offer large tattoos?

No, our studio offer all types of tattoos. We welcome walk-ins for small pieces such as little logos or text pieces. Our artists may not always post these on their social media, but we try to accommodate to everyone’s needs.

Can I get a tattoo whilst pregnant or breast feeding?

We don’t recommend this. When you are pregnant your skin can be highly sensitive and due to the increased stress that your body is under, the chances of you passing out may be increased, its possible your body could go into shock causing premature labour. With breastfeeding some of the ink can penetrate the blood stream. Even though these risks are very minimal, it’s worth waiting until after pregnancy/breastfeeding before starting or completing your tattoo. Our artists will not tattoo you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

What do we charge for tattoos?

The cost of our tattoos can vary depending on the size or style of the tattoo. We currently have a minimum charge of £60.
